Airtel Uganda pledges to continue supporting Kabaka birthday run

Airtel Uganda has pledged to deepen its relationship with Buganda in relation to the annual Kabaka birthday run.

Ali Balunywa, the director of Sales and Distribution at Airtel Uganda, told Bbeg Media that they were deeply impressed by the numbers that turned up yesterday for Kabaka’s birthday run.

“This time, we brought 120,000 kits, and they were all sold. That means the run was a success to us and we aim to target more in the next run,” he said

This year’s theme was centered on the fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS, and Balunywa said it is a cause that Airtel Uganda supports.

He said they will be launching over 300 new sites this year to improve the connectivity, coverage, and quality of their network.

Balunywa said besides Buganda, they also work closely with other kingdoms like Busoga and Tooro.

“We support and work with them in different communities,” he said

Yesterday’s run marked the 12th year Airtel Uganda has been the main sponsor of the Kabaka birthday run.
