Team Thorough, a political pressure group within the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has begun discussions with other political parties that share a similar mission of better serving Ugandans.
John Mugisha, the national chairman of the group, stated that these talks aim to explore the perspectives of like-minded groups and determine if their desires and aspirations align.
Speaking to journalists at their offices in Bat Valley, Kampala, Mugisha explained, “After struggling to meet President Museveni without success, we have resolved to engage with other forces of change to explore opportunities for collaboration in the political transition of this country.”
Mugisha highlighted that, as the political transition gains momentum, Team Thorough feels sidelined and overlooked, despite comprising elders, opinion leaders, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders.
The group claims it has been excluded by the ruling party from accessing benefits from development initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), the GROW project for women, NAADS, and Operation Wealth Creation.
Despite these challenges, Mugisha said Team Thorough remains committed to seeking a meeting with President Museveni, whom they believe can address their concerns.
