Team Thorough YKM, a political pressure group allied to the National Resistance Movement, wants to meet President Museveni to table their grievances.
John Mugisha, national coordinator of Team Through YKM, told journalists that since the 2021 elections, they have been denied access to Museveni, the NRM national chairman.
“Therefore, we decided to petition him through a peaceful walk and hand him our concerns,” said Mugisha.
Mugisha said the party has failed to implement key issues within the 2021 NRM manifesto.
They said they have canvassed support for the NRM for two terms; however, their efforts have not been appreciated.
They said they are tired of being used during elections, yet after the party’s victory, they are forgotten.
They have called upon all their national coordinators from the various regions to join them in their upcoming peaceful walk to Kololo on April 25, 2025.
They also queried the co-existence of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), a pressure group associated with Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, saying it’s duplicating the party work.
