Former Speaker Anita Among is set to be produced in the Anti-Corruption Court any time soon, possibly even today, impeccable sources have told Bbeg Media.
Sources told us Among will be slapped with embezzlement charges, similar to those preferred against Chris Obore and the other seven staff last week.
We have been told that the state will argue that Among was the mastermind of the embezzlement of billions of shillings and that Obore and others were acting under her instructions.
“Her file is ready to go,” one of the sources told us.
For more than a month now, Among has been under investigation over alleged corruption, abuse of office, and money laundering.
In May, investigators searched her properties and seized documents and electronic devices. They also impounded her vehicles, including a Rolls-Royce valued at Shs 2.3 billion.
Since then, she has been under house arrest, and there have been reports that she is unwell.
