UK school comes to the rescue of Uganda’s vulnerable children

Jenny Griffins, the deputy headteacher of Richard Lander School in Truro, Cornwall, United Kingdom (UK), has reaffirmed her commitment to supporting vulnerable Ugandan children at their sister school, Molly and Paul Vocational High School on Bunjako Islands, and Molly and Paul Children’s Village in Kamuzinda.

In an interview with Bbeg Media at Bulange, during a school trip, Griffins shared that a delegation of 49 British students has contributed to constructing classroom buildings and dormitories for disadvantaged children at Molly and Paul Vocational High School on Bunjako Islands.

She highlighted that the delegation also engaged in learning exchanges with Ugandan students to improve their academic performance and called for increased support for these vulnerable children.

Students from Richard Lander School expressed appreciation for Uganda’s rich tourism potential and favorable climate, noting that these assets, if effectively utilized, could generate significant revenue for the Buganda Kingdom and Uganda as a whole.

Since arriving on June 29, the group has visited several sites, including Entebbe, Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary on Lake Victoria, Molly and Paul Children’s Village in Kamuzinda, Molly and Paul Vocational High School on Bunjako Islands, Kasubi Tombs, and the Buganda Parliament. They are scheduled to visit the Kabaka’s Palace in Mengo and the Gaddafi National Mosque next.
