VIDEO: ‘Keep off Mawogola North in 2026,’ Museveni’s brother tells him

  1. Aine Godfrey Sodo has said he will not listen to anybody, including his brother, President Museveni, to

stand down for anybody in Mawogola North in 2026.

In 2021, Sodo stood against Shartsi Kutesa, an in-law and Sam Kutesa’s daughter, only to be told at the last minute to step down by Museveni.

Sodo last week told his supporters in the constituency that this time he will take on Shartsi come rain or sunshine.

“In our clan, President Museveni is like my father. Secondly, he is my brother, but most importantly, he is the president of Uganda,” he said.

In 2021, he requested that me to leave the race. He said: ‘Sodo, I urge you leave the race for Shartsi. In five years time if you feel you want to stand, when people have known you, you are free to stand. I will not stand in your way.”

Sodo apologised to his supporters over the manner he left the race in 2021.

“I did not want to go against my brother’s advice. But this time, we agreed. He [Museveni] is not in the picture because he told me that after five years, I will be free to stand. So I am asking for your support. I want to bring many services for the people,” he said.
