Picking NRM Nominations Papers: Step by step guide

Over the past week, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission has been issuing nomination forms to aspirants for the positions of Member of Parliament, district chairperson, Lord Mayor, municipal mayors, CEC positions and lord councillor.

Here are the steps aspirants go through to pick the forms.

  • Aspiring candidates are required to start at Tent 1 and proceed to Table 1 to receive a payment slip and fill in the required details.
  • They move to Table 2 with their bank deposit slip and completed payment slip. They are issued an official NRM receipt.
  • Afterward, they proceed to Table 3 for the receipt to be stamped.
  • From there, the aspirants are directed to Tent 2, where they are directed to the table handling their specific sub region. These sub-regions are: Karamoja, Acholi, Lango, West Nile, Teso, Sebei, Bugisu, Bukedi, Busoga, Greater Mubende, Ankole, Kigezi, Rwenzori, and Bunyoro.
  • At this stage, aspirants are required to present the following: a copy of the receipt issued in Tent 1, an expression of interest letter (either typed or handwritten), and photocopies of their academic documents.
  • Once the aspirants have satisfied the conditions, they are given a folder containing two copies of the nomination form and a copy of the election guidelines.
  • Aspirants are strictly warned against loitering around and making cash payments to anybody. All payments are made through the bank, as per the provided details. They are also cautioned against engaging middlemen since all services rendered at the commission are free of charge.
