New GRIND system seeks to connect Finance, HR, Procurement and Inventory

CINAT Group has launched GRIND, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system designed to help businesses connect their operations, people and information on one digital platform.

The system was launched on October 1, 2026, by CINAT Technologies, the Systems & Software subsidiary of CINAT Group. The company said GRIND was designed to simplify daily business operations, connect departments and give managers better access to information for decision-making.

The launch comes as many businesses continue to manage important activities using spreadsheets, paper records, manual processes and separate software systems. CINAT said such fragmented systems can make it difficult for managers to get a clear picture of business performance and can slow down routine operations.

GRIND is intended to bring key business functions into a more connected digital environment. These include financial processes, inventory, human resources, procurement, reporting and other operational activities.

CINAT said the system is based on the idea that business departments cannot work effectively as isolated units because information generated in one area often affects decisions in another.

For example, information about sales can influence inventory decisions, while procurement activities can affect finances and stock levels. Connecting such information can give management a broader view of what is happening across the business.

The company said GRIND is intended to help businesses move away from disconnected processes and towards more structured operations, although the specific functions available to each user will depend on the modules and configuration adopted by the business.

CINAT Technologies describes its wider role as developing systems that improve efficiency, reduce operational friction and give businesses greater visibility of their activities. The company says its approach combines technology with an understanding of business strategy and operations.

“Technology without strategy is just expensive infrastructure. We bring both,” CINAT Technologies says in describing its approach to systems and software development.

The company said this approach is important because digital transformation involves more than purchasing and installing software. Businesses also need to understand their existing processes, identify areas that require improvement and prepare employees to use new systems effectively.

CINAT said GRIND is therefore being positioned as part of a wider approach to business transformation rather than simply as another software product.

The company said reliable and timely information is important for managers making decisions about sales, expenditure, staffing, stock and other areas of operations. Where information is scattered across different systems, managers may have to wait for separate departments to prepare reports or reconcile records manually.

By bringing information into a connected system, GRIND is intended to support management reporting and performance monitoring while making operational information easier to access.

CINAT said the system could be relevant to businesses as they grow and become more complex. Expanding customer bases, larger teams, increased stock and entry into new markets can put pressure on systems that may have been sufficient when a business was smaller.

The company said a structured digital system can help businesses organise information and processes as their operations expand.

However, CINAT acknowledged that the success of an ERP system depends on more than the technology itself. Businesses also need appropriate implementation, employee training, good data management and effective adoption by users.

“For businesses considering an ERP system, the main consideration will be how well the platform fits their existing processes, the cost of implementation, the level of training provided and how easily employees can adopt the system,” the company said.

The launch of GRIND adds an enterprise software product to CINAT Group’s growing technology portfolio. The group has evolved from its earlier advertising focus into a broader strategy and operations consultancy covering systems and software, advertising and media, logistics and trade, and property.

CINAT Technologies has also been involved in other digital projects, including the development of the BeezyLCL cargo consolidation platform in partnership with industry stakeholders.

With GRIND, the company is seeking to apply this technology-focused approach to the everyday management of businesses.

The launch comes as Ugandan and East African businesses face growing pressure to improve efficiency, manage information better and respond more quickly to changes in their markets.

For CINAT, the broader objective is to help businesses connect strategy, people, processes and technology so that information can move more effectively across departments and managers can have better visibility of day-to-day operations.
