Two employees of Next Media have died in a road accident on Entebbe Road, police have confirmed. Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye were killed on the spot when two vehicles collided head-on early Friday morning.
Brian Makona, a presenter on Uncut was seriosuly injured and rushed to Kisubi hospital where he remains in a critical state.
According to police, the crash happened at around 2:00 a.m. at Namulanda, near Stabex, on Entebbe Road.
Police say a Toyota Hilux, registration number UAS 976W, was travelling from Entebbe towards Kampala when the driver lost control of the vehicle. It reportedly drifted into the opposite lane as it approached the Stabex area at Namulanda.
The Hilux then collided head-on with a Toyota Allex, which was carrying the Next Media staff.
Kasirye and Ndamagye died at the scene. Makona survived the crash but sustained injuries and was taken to hospital for emergency care.
Police say investigations into the exact cause of the accident are ongoing.
