CBS’ Meddie Nsereko in UK for eye treatment

Veteran CBS presenter Meddie Nsereko is currently in the United Kingdom for sick leave, sources within the Mengo-based radio station have told us.

There had been reports that the veteran radio presenter was under suspension, but this has now been disputed.

“He applied for sick leave because his eyes have a defect which he wants to treat in the UK,” our source said. Nsereko has often gone to the UK, where he has family, for his annual leave.

Our sources assured us that he will resume work once he returns.

Nsereko’s prolonged absence from the station had sparked rumours that he had been suspended. Some claimed he had been sacked over unverified differences with Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga. Nsereko already took his annual leave mid this year.

Nsereko is the host of Kiriza Oba Gana, a political talk show on 89.2, and Palamenti Yaffe on Saturdays on 88.9. He has been at the influential station for more than 20 years.

Efforts to talk to the management of CBS were futile.
