Masaza Cup: Kyadondo blames poor performance on lack of support by the business community  

The Kyadondo County football executive has accused the wealthy and business community within the county of doing little to support the team during this year’s Masaza Cup. Kyadondo was eliminated in the early stages of the Cup.

Paul Mugambe, the vice-chairman of Kyadondo FC, told Bbeg Media the team had been abandoned by the business community in the county.

“Therefore, next time we call upon them to support us when we need them,” said Mugambe, who is also the Nakawa mayor.

However, Nicolas Lubwama, who was singled out as the main sponsor of the team, urged the football management in Kyadondo to address issues of accountability, dedication and implementation of policies aimed at making their club a winner and a better club. H

e promised to continue supporting football in Kyadondo County to promote youth talent and restore the past glory of Kyadondo County.

Ahmed Matovu Magandazi, the Kyadondo County chief, commended the sponsors and players for their dedication, teamwork and exemplary sportsmanship despite the loss.

He called upon companies within Kyadondo to support sports and help build talent among youths in their county.

Betty Ethel Naluyima, the Wakiso District Woman MP, revealed that she would continue supporting sports in her county both financially and logistically, and even at policy level, as she sits on a parliamentary committee for education and sports, where she has done her best in supporting sports not only at local government level but also at national level.
