UNEB has started hearing cases involving schools and pupils whose 2023 Primary Leaving Examination results were with held due to suspected examination malpractices.
According to a letter addressed to one of the schools (names withheld) dated February 8, 2024 signed by Dan Odongo, executive secretary, schools and their pupils will be required to appear before the body’s security committee to answer queries.
“The results for this examination was released on January 23, 2024. However results for all the candidates for your school were withheld due to allegations of malpractices brought to the attention of the examinations board. You were informed that you would be awarded an opportunity to present the cases before the board on the date to be communicated… Please note that in the event that you and the affected pupils do not appear on the date and time indicated above UNEB will proceed to make a finding in your absence,” the letter notes.
This particular school is supposed to appear before the committee on February 19 at 9.00 am.
