Pastor Martin Ssempa has said his support for the Anti-Homosexuality law has left him impoverished, broke and nearly bankrupt.
Speaking to Bbeg Media after court upheld the law, Ssempa claimed his life is danger following threats by opponents of the law. He appealed to the public for financial assistance.
Court ruled this week that the law does not contravene major clauses of the Constitution, dealing a major blow to rights activists who had wanted it to be annulled.

Ssempa said he had a 50-50 feeling that court would rule in favour of those in support of the law.
“These people are paid a lot of money to promote this [homosexuality] that’s why they put fear among Ugandans. We shall not accept that. God is on our side,” he said.
He called upon religious leaders and politicians to come up and speak against this vice that he said is silently killing the young generation.
He said government should set up a ministry for Family and Marriage to ensure that the law is fully implemented.
