President Museveni has said urged local leaders to supplement their emoluments with income generating projects.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The president made the remarks while presiding over the closure of a two-week leadership training for local leaders from seven districts at the National Leadership Institute (NALI) in Kyankwanzi.
Museveni noted that if Ugandans are patriotic all the intended objectives of the NRM government shall be achieved including the socio-economic transformation of the country.
He said that some leaders had made a wrong diagnosis of the country’s issues which were rectified by the NRM government when it came to power in 1986.
Museveni said a united and patriotic Uganda aids prosperity rather than basing on tribes and religious affiliations.
The president tasked the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja to find ways of supporting the leaders on income generation.
He thanked Nabbanja for organizing such a training to orient leaders on the NRM principles.
Nabbanja said if resources are available such leadership transformation courses shall be rolled out to other districts to improve on service delivery.
The director NALI Brig Charles Kisembo said the leaders had been acquainted with knowledge and skills in leadership for better service delivery.
Some of the participants lauded the NRM for transforming the country and testified that many areas are progressing well.
