Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has appointed Dr Rachel Mindra-Katoroogo as Acting Deputy Principal, effective from 15 October 2025.
In a statement, MUBS said the appointment followed a merit-based selection process overseen by the Appointments Board.
Dr Mindra-Katoroogo will act in the role until the Education Service Commission appoints a substantive Deputy Principal, the statement noted.
Mindra-Katoroogo holds several prominent positions, including being a board member of the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE), where she chairs the Business Conduct, Listings, and Nominations committee and serves on the Audit & Risk committee.
She is also a non-executive director at the Uganda Development Bank (UDB), director at the RENU Financial Services Board, and chair of the Board of Trustees for the MUBS Retirement Benefits Scheme. Additionally, she represents the ministry of Education and Sports on the Kyambogo University Senate, serves on the Architects Registration Board Disciplinary committee, and is managing director and board chair of the Kampala East Endowment Fund Ltd.
At MUBS, she is a member of the Staff Disciplinary Committee and participates in disciplinary committees for MTN Uganda and ZTE contract staff, managed by the MUBS Entrepreneurship & Innovation Centre.
