Archbishop Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu has called upon Ugandans to fundraise for the 9th East African Revival Convention, which will take place in Kabale. Shs 710 million is needed for the convention.
The convention aims to promote reconciliation, forgiveness, love, repentance, hard work, and health among revivalists.
“As we celebrate the upcoming event in Kigezi sub region, we call for funds from all our revivalists countrywide and from the region to better organise this event which will guide us to reconcile. Forgive those who offended us, love one another, repent,work hard and fight against diseases,” Kaziimba said.
During a press conference at Namirembe Cathedral, Kaziimba urged revivalists across Uganda and the region to contribute generously to ensure the event’s success.
Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, the organizing committee chairperson and former prime minister, emphasized the role of political leaders in supporting spiritual initiatives to transform lives, promote transparency, and instill discipline.
He highlighted the revival church’s historical significance in transcending colonial borders, uniting people with shared values across the region, and noted that President Museveni and other leaders are products of this movement.
Amama Mbabazi, co-chair and former Prime Minister, assured participants of robust security measures, with clearance from police and other agencies to ensure safety and order.
The convention, held every decade, is expected to draw thousands of participants from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, the DR Congo, and even visitors from California, USA.
