Janan Schools have bought kits worth Shs 4 million for Kabaka’s Birthday Run. The run will take place on April 7, 2024.
The money was delivered by Michael Kironde, the director of Janan Schools to Waggwa Nsibirwa, the second deputy Katikkiro.
Kironde called upon government to join Buganda Kingdom in the fight against HIV/AIDS, which is the main theme of the run.
To schools, both private and public, Kironde urged them to use the run as an opportunity to spread information on the prevention of the spread of HIV/AIDS.
“Of late, the infection rates in Buganda have decreased in Buganda this implies that Buganda can help the country in fight against the disease,” Kironde said.
He said many schools no longer consider HIV/AIDS as a challenge to students but they can use the Kabaka run to renew their resolve.
Janan Schools have a number of branches. There is Janan Secondary School in Kabalagala and a primary and secondary school in Bombo-Kalule. They have over the years excelled at national examinations.
