How Kasuku’s ‘luseke’ landed him Shs 1 million from Museveni [Video]

Isaac Daniel Katende, popularly known as Kasuku, managed to extract one million shillings from President Museveni after a session he and others had with him at State House Nakesero.

Dubbed “Jazz with Jajja,” the interaction involved several digital content creators and social media influencers with Museveni. It was organised by Natasha Karugire Museveni, the president’s daughter.

As the session wound down, Kasuku was asked to give a vote of thanks on behalf of others.

And he did what he does best. Extracting something using a luseke.

Kasuku: They always tell us that if you go visit your Jajja, they pack for you things like Matooke, sweet potatoes…the people told me that don’t forget to ask Jajja. He should pack some things for you, and we will enjoy ourselves. As Jajja, I will be waiting, and you load me with things for the Bazzukulu, and we go. We want to go and enjoy after seeing our Jajja.

Museveni responded: Regarding gifts…I don’t want to go to prison because I am a candidate. If I gift people, I will be arrested for bribing. We shall have to wait until after the elections, and we shall have to sort out issues. [Emmanuel] Dombo, what is the policy on gifts?

Dombo replied: Your excellency, there are certain activities accepted within the framework of the campaigns. For instance, people who have come here have spent transport to come here.

Museveni: That one I can refund. One million, one million. I would even have done more, but I don’t want to go to prison.

Museveni controlled the session, and the people who were chosen to attend the session were selected beforehand.

Bbeg Media understands that the digital content creators were asked to submit questions, which were vetted by Natasha.
