ANT lauds activists behind #UgandaParliamentExhibition

The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) has applauded the initiators of the Parliament Exhibition for  illuminating challenges and opportunities at the intersection of technology governance and civic engagement.

Addressing the media, Winnie Kiiza said like many Ugandans, ANT is deeply appalled and disapointed by the revelations of severe mismanagement, corruption and abuse of office by the parliamentarians brought to light by citizens on X.

“As ANT, we would like to appreciate truly patriotic Ugandans who have been able to expose the on-goings in parliament which also constitute a clear reflection of the executive,” she said.

The exhibition has exposed mismanagement of public resources, nepotism and widespread corruption in the 11th Parliament.

She said the allocation of land where the historical Luzira prison sits to a Chinese investor to construct a hotel was an abuse of power.

“This decision disregards the prison’s historical significance and potential impact on the local community. It reflects top-down approach where major land use decisions are made without broad public consultation,” she said.
