After nine years at the helm of the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), Allen Kagina is stepping down.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Kagina, 63, who joined UNRA from the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), wrote in the post on X that she was leaving the authority. She did not reveal what she will do next.
“Having fully served its purpose, I am retiring the handle @UNRA ED. It has been a 9 years 8 months fruitful engagement on this platform…. adieu,” she wrote.
Her retriement comes after government decided to merge UNRA with the ministry of Works and Transport in October. The process of merging the two institutions is supposed to be finalised before the end of this month.
The agency was formed in 2008 to oversee the construction and rehabilitation of the national roads. During this period it has overseen the paving of more than 4,000 KM of roads nationally.
