Uganda Tourism Association rebrands for stronger global presence

The leading voice of Uganda’s private tourism sector has undergone a significant transformation, officially adopting a new name to enhance its identity and outreach.

The organisation, previously known as the Confederation of Uganda Tourism Association, is now formally called the Uganda Tourism Association (UTA). This change, announced in a press release, follows a lengthy process and is described as a key milestone in bolstering the group’s corporate image, visibility, and brand positioning.

According to the statement, the simplified name offers greater clarity and a more robust platform for interactions with members, government entities, and partners at both local and international levels.

“The new name provides clarity, simplicity and a stronger presence for engaging members, government and partners both locally and internationally,” the release noted.

UTA positions itself as the apex body for the private tourism sector in Uganda, serving as an umbrella organisation dedicated to advocacy, collaboration, and fostering sustainable growth in the industry.

With this rebranding, the association reaffirms its commitment to driving positive change and supporting Uganda’s vibrant tourism landscape, which includes attractions like gorilla trekking, wildlife safaris, and cultural heritage sites.

The transition comes at a time when Uganda’s tourism sector is recovering from global challenges, aiming to attract more visitors and investors.
