Butambala MP, Muwanga Kivumbi responded “stupid” to a reporter who had asked him why he does not resign from Parliament if he is tired of being a legislator.
It followed an impromptu press briefing at Parliament where the legislator was tasked by journalist why he had snubbed a NUP meeting with party president Robert Kyagulanyi early this week.
According to an audio recording, after a brief exchange, Muwanga told journalists that he was not dying to be an MP and no one should blackmail him.
He said: “If I am not a Member of Parliament I die or I starve to death?”
Muwanga went on: “They don’t know that some of us are tired of being members of parliament.”
Then the journalist replied: “Then, resign.”
Muwanga shot back: “Resign? Stupid. That politics should end.”
