David Wandera has been appointed interim managing director of Absa Bank Uganda. He replaces Mumba Kalifungwa who was appointed in a similar role by Stanbic Bank Uganda.

Until recently, Wandera has been executive director and Head of Markets at Absa Uganda.
He is a Chartered Accountant (FCCA-UK) and holds a Master’s in International Finance from the University of Leeds.
His extensive experience and qualifications assure us that the bank’s leadership remains in capable hands.
George Wesonga Opiyo, the acting board chairperson said the process of appointing a substantive managing director was underway and the bank will ensure there is a smooth transition to the new leadership.
