Jaliat Namuwaya a journalist with Vision Group is seeking Shs 17 million to carry out a lifesaving surgery.
Namuwaya, 38, was diagnosed with umbilical endometriosis disease. She bleeds through the umbilical cord during her menstrual periods. She said she first noticed symptoms of the condition 12 years ago when she developed a swelling on the umbilical cord.
Tests confirmed that she had umbilical endometriosis. Several fundraising drives have been launched on various social media platforms to raise the money.
On one platform at least three million has been realized in cash and pledges.
