Peter Mukuru has joined the Uganda Development Bank (UDB) as director of business technology.
In a statement, the bank said Mukuru brings “more than two decades of experience in business technology and digital transformation across development finance institutions, regulatory bodies, government agencies, utilities and the private sector.”
Until recently, Mukuru served as IT project manager at the African Development Bank (ADB), where he led large multinational digital transformation initiatives at enterprise and continental level.
AT ADB, the bank said his work included modernising financial systems, strengthening digital workplaces, improving enterprise service management and supporting the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
“He has previously held senior leadership roles at the Uganda Bureau of Statistics, the Uganda Communications Commission and the National Water and Sewerage Corporation, as well as at TraceCorp Solutions,” the statement said.
According to the statement, Mukuru holds a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Information Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in computer science and statistics.
He is professionally certified in information security, risk management, project management, enterprise architecture and IT service management.
