Bunyoro TV has been sold to Pastor Joseph Serwadda for a reported Shs 750 million, reliable sources have told Bbeg Media. We have been told the deal was sealed last week.
Serwadda already owns Dream TV and Impact FM.
We have been told that Bunyoro TV, which is based in Hoima, has been facing financial challenges. There was also a high staff turnover.
We understand that Serwadda will use the TV to extend his influence in the sub region.
We also understand that Next Media Services had also offered to buy the station but management did not accept their offer.
The TV was started by businessman Edward Kiiza and his wife, Joan Kiiza in 2008.
The couple also own Liberty FM.
