Miracle Centre to hold special prayers for families affected by global conflicts

essica Kayanja said the prayer gathering will also highlight the importance of peace within families.

The Miracle Centre Cathedral in Lubaga will hold a special prayer service for families affected by ongoing conflicts in different parts of the world.

The service will take place on March 7, 2026, as the world prepares to commemorate International Women’s Day on March 8.

Miracle Centre leaders said the prayers would focus on mothers, children and families who have been affected by wars linked to tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

The event is expected to bring together families who may have lost hope and encourage them that life can still go on despite difficult circumstances.

Speaking to journalists at the Girl Power Project offices in Kampala, Jessica Kayanja, the chief executive officer of the Girl Power Project, said Ugandans should use the period around Women’s Day to revive their spirits.

“We decided to present our challenges to Jesus Christ as the only judge who can give solutions to our problems,” she said.

She said the prayer gathering will also highlight the importance of peace within families.

She noted that the Girl Power Project has over the years supported women and families by equipping both girls and boys with practical skills aimed at building the nation.

“There is no marriage without challenges. People should be patient with each other,” she said.

Jessica Kayanja urged families to reduce anger and learn to listen to each other in order to minimise conflicts at home.

Commenting on the growing cases of gender based violence in society, especially among families dealing with loss and hardship, she said tolerance and understanding are essential for building peaceful communities.

She also commended the government for its efforts to promote gender balance, including the presence of women in some of the top leadership positions in the country.

The March 7 prayer service is expected to attract believers from different parts of Kampala and surrounding areas.
