The ministry of ICT and National Guidance has dismissed reports that it purchased a vehicle for Shs 965 million.
The reports have been circulating on various social media platforms and some news websites, suggesting that the ministry blew taxpayers money.
In a statement, the ministry said Shs 965 million was used to purchase two vehicles registration numbers: UG0057N and UG0058N
“The procurement process was open bidding and strictly adhered to the guidelines set by the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) and contracts were cleared by the office of the Solicitor General. It is therefore worth noting that due process was followed,” the ministry said in a statement dated August 4, 2024.
