Minister Muyingo’s Seeta Junior gets 56 fours as Kabojja, Greenhill, Hillside, Kampala Parents score none

Traditionally, Greenhill Academy, Kampala Parents School, Kabojja Junior School, Hillside Nursery and Primary School have been some of the best performing schools in Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

Last year, none of the pupils who sat PLE in those schools registered aggregate four, a shock to some, given that they had been averaging.

While their overall performance in terms of first grades was good, some of the teachers in those schools and the parents told Bbeg Media that they were still perplexed as to

“When we received our results, we could not believe it because in our case, we had at least 10 pupils who we expected to score 4. But our best pupils got 5, said one of the teachers at Kabojja Junior School, who requested anonymity.

In 2024, Kabojja had five pupils who scored an aggregate of 4.

One of the parents whose child sat PLE at Kabojja Junior Primary School said they were preparing to petition the Ministry of Education and Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) to establish the truth.

“I suspect our pupils were not fairly marked or graded,” said the parent whose child scored an aggregate of seven.

Both Greenhill campuses in Buwate and Kibuli had no pupil score four.

Yet as some of these schools sour over the results, Seeta Junior School in Mukono registered arguably its best performance since it was established.

The school, owned by the Minister of State for Higher Education, Dr Chrysostom Muyingo, had 56 pupils with an aggregate of 4 in the exams released last week. Seeta Junior Mukono’s worst-performing pupil scored an aggregate of 8. The school had all its 140 candidates pass in division one, according to the results.

In 2024, Seeta Junior Mukono had 36 pupils with an aggregate of four, meaning they had added 20.

In contrast, a school like Kampala Parents School in Naguru did not score any four. In 2024, the school had one pupil with four.

Kampala Parents School in Naguru had no pupil with an aggregate of 4. Last year, it had one.

For the second year in a row, Hillside Nursery and Primary School in Naalya had no pupil who scored an aggregate of four. In 2022, Hillside had the highest number of pupils with an aggregate of 4. They were 99.

Also, for the first time in more than five years, Hillside registered two pupils in division three.
