Raphael Okiot, the young lawyer who perished in an accident at Nkumba today morning had just picked his car from one of the bonds in Kampala on Saturday, April 13.
“He got it from the bond on Saturday and was excited. It is unfortunate that he has not enjoyed it,” said one of the people who knew him.
Okiot, who died after a heavy truck smashed into his Mitsubish saloon car (UBQ 371P) at the Nkumba traffic lights had driven the car for only four days.
We have also been told that his wife, the magistrate Irene Faith Kwagala, was pregnant with the couple’s first child. Okiot has not lived to see his child.
