Kabushenga dropped from KCCA shortlist for lacking a master’s degree

Robert Kabushenga has been disqualified from the race to become executive director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) because he does not possess a master’s degree.

The former Vision Group CEO wrote on his X handle: “I have been notified by the Public Service Commission that I do NOT meet the minimum requirements for the job of Executive Director of@KCCAUG. I do not hold a Masters Degree. For this reason I will not make the shortlist.”

Kabushenga had been touted as a favourite for the post but it now appears the gods were not on his side.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and a post-graduate diploma in legal practice from the Law Development Centre (LDC).

There are people who argued that his vast experience as a senior manager at Vision Group was sufficient to get him on the shortlist but this was not the thinking of the Public Service Commission.

It now means that Kabushenga will have to retreat to his private ventures which he has been running as he waits for another bigger thing.
