Joseph Beyanga, the Head of Radio at Nation Media Uganda has hung up his mic after 23 years in the game. In a post on X, Beyanga expressed gratitude to the group for nurturing and mentoring him.
“Thank you NMG; you gave me an opportunity to explore, experiment and thrive. I loved every single working day, the friendships, the collaborations and you made many many of my dreams come true. It’s been 23 years and 4 months of fun, thrilling challenges and I enjoyed them all. I walk on with a full heart and shall always, always, be grateful. Thank you,” he wrote.
Beyanga joined NMG in 2001 as radio producer with Monitor FM (which later became KFM). He was the producer of Andrew Mwenda Live. He later became head of radio programming before he was promoted to Head of Radios.
At NMG Uganda, Beyanga also found a wife, Carol Alyek. She quit NMG in 2023 and went into private consultancy
Over the last couple of years, Beyanga had become a leading road safety advocate and organised walks to various towns in Uganda to create awareness and advocacy for safe roads. It is understood he will now concentrate on his road safety initiative.
