Samantha Muhwezi, the daughter of Gen Jim Muhwezi, has started her duties as the Chief Operations Officer at the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC).
Samantha started work at UNOC on April 8 having left TotalEnergies, where she served as legal director, in March.
According to a statement from UNOC, she will handle the day to day operations and provide strategic advice to the organisation.
She will directly supervise the departments of: Technical Services, National Content, Health and Safety, Supply Chain and IT.
According to her profile on Linked-In, Samantha is an advocate qualified to practice in England and Wales and a member of the Law Society, London UK.
She joined TotalEnergies S.E. in 2016 as part of their three-person pipeline project team and led the negotiations for the oil pipeline and worked on all aspects to lead the project to a Final Investment Decision in 2022.
Her father is the minister for Security and an NRM historical.
