The deputy chief executive officer of Buganda Land Board (BLB) Kizito Bashir Juma has been shortlisted for the position of deputy director, Land Administration and Surveys at KCCA.
This will come as a shock to many given that in his role at BLB Kizito is deemed to be very powerful and influential.
Indeed some believe that should he get the KCCA job, it would be some sort of demotion. There are those who feel that given his vast experience in land matters, he should have applied for a ‘director’ level position.
Some sources said he could have felt disappointed not get the top job at BLB when David Kyewalabye Male left yet some say he was the most qualified. Male was replaced Simon Kaboggoza.
Kyewalabye, who had gone into private business, has also applied for the executive director role KCCA.
Other sources at Mengo told us that Kizito could be looking for career growth and better opportunities.
He has worked at BLB for more than 15 years. He also worked as a district staff surveyor in Nakaseke and Wakiso districts.
