In one of his videos, Yiga Kisakyamukama insults the Kabaka Ronald Mutebi saying many unpalatable things about one of the most revered figures in Buganda.
In the same video denigrating Kabaka and Buganda he bares his buttocks for the cameras to show his utter disgust for the kingdom.
“Baganda are fed on human waste that is why they supported Bobi Wine in the elections. They don’t understand,” he says.
In another video, Kisakyamukama is seen attacking people living with HIV/AIDS.
“They don’t deserve to live with us. They should be banished to another place,” Kisakyamukama said of people living with HIV/AIDS.
While he later apologized for his actions, a lot of damage had been done that many people in Buganda are yet to forgive him.
That is why when President Museveni appointed Kisakyamukama Assistant Resident District Commissioner for Gomba, there was a mix of horror and disbelief.
“It can’t be true. The president can’t appoint such a person. No,” commented one person on X.
Cartoonist and satirist, Dr Spire Ssentongo crafted a cheeky cartoon of Kisakyamukama, without pants, being introduced to the public as the Gomba Assistant RDC.
Horror and shock is written on the faces of some of the people in the audience.
Although said to be in his late 30s, Kisakyamukama has been the chairperson of the Gomba district youth council.
He has been a staunch supporter of the NRM and in the past campaigns, he led a group of people that roughed up supporters of the National Unity Platform in the district.
From his videos and according to those who have interacted with him, he appears unhinged.
“I think some of his wires are missing,” said someone who has known him for the last five years.
Kisakyamukama lives larger than life. He owns two cars, a double cabin and a Toyota Harrier, both reportedly given to him by the state to do mobilization work.
He borrows heavily from the script of the controversial senior presidential advisor is a Tamale Mirundi, whom he likes imitating in speech and actions.
Before he was appointed deputy RDC, he had attacked a number of senior government officials including former Principal Private Secretary Dr Kenneth Omona for frustrating him. One time, he gave Omona two days to ensure he receives his money for mobilising for NRM.
Kisakyamukama joins a long list of figures in the NRM who have been appointed to lofty positions after spewing controversial views about the Kabaka or the opposition.
