Journalists like other professionals rarely stay in one place for a long time. They are constantly on the move for better opportunities. Uganda’s media landscape is full of job hoppers.
Below are the journalists who have refused to stay in one place. Our list captures some of the prominent journalists who have worked in at least three media organizations. The list is certainly not exhaustive.

Simon Muyanga Lutaya
The senior broadcaster can’t stay in one place. In the last 15 years, he has worked with NBS Radio in Jinja, CBS Radio, NBS TV, Smart 24, Baba TV, Radio 4 and others. Currently, he runs a private media organisation, SML News.
Samson Kasumba
After a stint as a businessman on Nasser Road, the vocal and argumentative journalist joined Monitor FM (now KFM) in the early 2000s. He later took a break before bouncing back as a senior presenter on Urban TV where he hosted the popular guild presidential debates. In 2016 he crossed to NBS TV where he still works as a prime news anchor.
Faridah Nakazibwe
Nakazibwe took her baby steps in journalism at Buddu FM in Masaka. Later she joined WBS TV, where managers there told her she did not have the stature to anchor news. This all changed when she joined NTV in 2007 and immediately became a standout anchor and presenter. She left NTV last year to concentrate on her private business.
Maurice Mugisha
Maurice Mugisha started his media journey with WBS TV. When NTV was formed in 2006, he joined it as an anchor, reporter and later news manager. Now he is at UBC TV where he works as deputy managing director.
Mildred Tuhaise
The silky voiced presenter started at Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga’s Top TV and Top Radio. She later joined WBS TV as a parliamentary reporter/anchor. In 2015 she joined NBS TV where she still works as senior news anchor and presenter of the Morning Breeze.
Dalton Kaweesa
Dalton Kaweesa, the current news manager of Next Media, started out as a reporter at Red Pepper. Later he joined Uganda Radio Network before landing at NBS TV.
Edris Kiggundu
Kiggundu, a political reporter, has seen the ins and outs of media houses. He started at Sunrise in 2003 as a second year student at university. He later worked for the short-lived Evening Mail. In March 2005, he joined The Observer until 2017 when he left to start The Nile Post. In 2023, he joined hands with other senior colleagues to start Bbeg Media where he currently works.
Zambaali Bulasio Mukasa
Bulasio Zambaali Mukasa started out at Metro FM owned by Francis Babu. He joined Beat FM for aabout a year before crossing to CBS FM where he made his name. In 2019, he was prized away by NBS TV where his fortune has grown as the host of the popular talk show Barometer and anchors news.
Jacobs Seaman
Jacobs Odongo Seaman is a media journeyman of sorts. He has worked at The New Vision, Daily Monitor, PML Daily, New Times in Rwanda and he recently joined the Nile Post as editor.
Raymond Mujuni
Mujuni started working at Uganda Radio Network (URN) while in his senior six vacation. Since then, he has worked at Next Media and NTV, where he is in his second stint.
Solomon Serwanjja
Solomon Serwanjja has worked at UBC TV, NTV and NBS TV. He currently runs the African Institute for Investigative Journalism (AIIJ).
Rukh-Shana Namuyimba
The old Budonian started her media journey with Monitor FM where she worked as a news anchor and editor. Later she joined NTV as an anchor before joining NBS TV as a weekend news anchor. In between he forays in the media, she always had one foot in the PR and Communications world. She left NBS TV early this year to pursue private business.
