Gen Muhoozi needs to be stopped now, says Nadduli

Abdul Nadduli, a senior presidential adviser on political matters has called for a meeting of NRA historicals to resolve the matter of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s political ambitions.

In an interview with CBS Radio after Muhoozi Project rebranded to Patriotism League of Uganda, the veteran politician feared that if Muhoozi is not checked, he “could overthrow his father.”

“Museveni should call us as fighters who fought for this nation so that we can advise him and agree on the transition. We have been here for over forty years. We cant do things has if we captured power yesterday,” he said on the segment Nze Nga Bwendaba.

Nadduli said there are signs that people are yearning for change and if the situation is not well handled, there could be chaos.

Gen Muhoozi, a serving army officer, has expressed intentions to stand for presidency in 2026. He has already gone to some parts of the country holding rallies. This contravenes the UPDF Act which forbids a serving army officer from engaging in partisan politics.

The army has so far skirted around the issue but critics say he is not being apprehended because he is the first son.
