Five suspects have been remanded to Luzira until April 11 over the murder of Daniel Bbosa, the head of the Ndiga clan.
The suspects are Noah Lujja; Harriet Nakiguli; Joseph Nakabale; Ezra Mayanja and Milly Naluwenda.
The suspects appeared before the Mwanga II Chief Magistrates Court which read for them one count of murder contrary to sections 188 and 189 of the Penal Code Act. The prosecution informed the court that investigations were ongoing and requested an adjournment.
Court advised the accused not to make any statements regarding the charges because its lacks the jurisdiction to try offences of a capital nature. He subsequently remanded the accused persons until April 11, 2024.
Before Bbosa’s death, there had been a longstanding dispute within the kingdom, dating back over 480 years, leading to the Buganda cultural court, known as court Yakisekwa, directing Bbosa to step down from leadership due to lineage discrepancies among the clan’s true descendants.
