DF’s Flavia Nakafeero dares NUP’s Naluyima in Wakiso

Flavia Nakafeero, the Deputy Secretary for Diaspora Affairs of the Democratic Front (DF), has officially joined the race for Wakiso District Woman MP in the 2026 general elections.

Speaking to Bbeg Media at DF headquarters in Mengo, Nakafeero outlined her commitment to prioritizing service delivery through effective legislation.

Nakafeero said her campaign focuses on addressing critical service delivery gaps in Wakiso, including inadequate healthcare, poor road infrastructure, ineffective waste management, limited access to clean water, and insufficient empowerment programs for women and youth.

“When you the people of Wakiso district vote me as your next member of parliament, I promise to focus on improved service delivery through proper legislation,” Nakafeero said.

Drawing on her extensive leadership experience, Nakafeero highlighted her past roles as a Wakiso district councillor for Nansana Division, head of Private Students on the Guild Council at Makerere University, Head Girl at Ndejje Senior Secondary School, and minister of Ethics and Integrity at Buganda Road Primary School.

Nakafeero also pledged to empower women and youth through vocational skills training to enhance their livelihoods. On education, she committed to providing half bursaries for primary and secondary students to improve access and secure a better future for Wakiso’s children.

Her candidacy on the Democratic Front ticket positions her as a challenger to the incumbent, Betty Ethel Naluyima of the National Unity Platform (NUP) alongside a handful of other contestants from other parties.
