Capital FM has apologized for an inaccurate tweet about the Leader of Opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi.
In a statement on X, the radio station conceded they had been misled about the agenda of a meeting Ssenyonyi has held with other opposition legislators.
The radio station had posted that Ssenyonyi had chaired a meeting to draft a censure motion on Speaker Anita Among and his predecessor, Mathias Mpuuga over misuse of public funds.
They claimed that Ssenyonyi wanted to appease the social media activists behing the campaign to expose the rot in Parliament.
But Ssenyonyi had questioned the intention and accuracy of the post.
“Kindly accept our sincere apologies for any confusion or misinformation in the tweet quoted. As a media house we strive for accuracy and regret any inaccuracies. Kindly disregard the information in this tweet.Thank you for understanding,” the station tweeted.
