Airtel Money has partnered with the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) to simplify tax and fee payments for Ugandans. This new partnership allows people to pay taxes, renew passports, get business licenses, and settle other URA fees right from their mobile phones.
“No more long queues or piles of paperwork,” said Japhet Aritho, Airtel Money’s managing director, at the launch event.
“Now, you can handle all your URA payments quickly and easily, without taking time off work.”
With Airtel Money, users can make payments in just a few steps:
Open the MyAirtel App or dial 1854*7#. Choose the payment type, enter details, and confirm the transaction.
This service covers payments like PAYE, VAT, customs duties, passport renewals, university fees, and trading licenses. It’s designed to save time and make life simpler for everyone, from students to business owners.
Airtel Money paid Shs 133.4 billion in taxes in 2024, showing its commitment to supporting Uganda’s growth.
“We know how important taxes are for our country’s development,” Aritho added.
“We want to help every Ugandan contribute easily.”
James Odong, Assistant Commissioner at URA, praised the partnership.
“This collaboration with Airtel Money helps us use technology to make tax payments more convenient and transparent. It’s a big step toward better public services and financial inclusion for all Ugandans.”
