Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has met with the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Edward. The meeting took place in Surrey at Edward’s Bagshot Park residence.
Mayiga said the two talked about the collaboration between Buganda and the Duke of Edinburgh International Award Project, among other subjects.
“We had the company of some members of HRH’s staff and some members of my delegation,” Mayiga said.
Mayiga is in the United Kingdom to take part in the Buganda Bumu Europe Convention (BBECO). He is scheduled to meet Kabaka’s subjects and seek opportunities for Buganda.
Prince Edward, the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth 11, was in Uganda in March this year and paid a courtesy call on Mayiga.
He brought a message of goodwill from King Charles III to the Kabaka and recognized the kingdom’s efforts in impacting the youth through various developmental programs.
Mayiga was accompanied by senior Mengo leaders: Waggwa Nsibirwa; Joseph Kawuki and Geoffrey Kibuuka.
