Yvonne Koreta has told Bbeg Media that she is enjoying her work at China Town where she works as customer sales representative.
Bbeg Media reported today that Yvonne, the daughter of Gen I van Koreta, had landed a job at China Town Superstore at Lugogo. The store has caused a sensation in Kampala with its low prices and wide range of prices.
Some people wondered why the prominent radio personality who has worked at some of the biggest radio stations in Kampala had settled for such a job.
But in a telephone conversation, Yvonne said she is happy to “have some thing to do.”
“After I left Sanyu FM, I did not have what to do. I did not want to just sit at home and do nothing. So when this opportunity came up, I took it,” she said.
She said the salary at China Town was meagre but that is not what counts.
“What counts is that I can put food on the table. I have people to feed,” she said.
She said she had not closed the door on returning to radio and the media generally.
“If get an opportunity, I will grab it,” she said.
